Picketing at Amazon, Coventry, on Wednesday (Picture: Richard Milner)

Today is the biggest day of strikes in more than a decade, with schools, universities, hospitals and state departments and agencies shut or disrupted.

Strikers include up to 300,000 NEU union teachers, 133,000 PCS union civil service workers, 70,000 UCU university union members and 60,000 BMA junior doctors. Other groups—such as London Underground workers, BBC Live radio journalists, and Amazon workers in Coventry—are out too.

It’s even bigger than the mass strike one month ago, which saw at least half a million walk out.

However, to win, today has to be part of an honest assessment of the way forward—and a shift in strategy.

We’re posting live reports, pictures and videos from picket lines, rallies and protests throughout Wednesday (see below).
